Lakewood University Hires Tamika McKee to Head Financial Aid & Career Services Counselor

In the role, McKee will provide much-needed employment assistance to graduates when country re-opens.

Cleveland Heights, OH – Lakewood University is pleased to announce the hiring of a new member to its leadership team – Tamika McKee – who is to head the Career Services Department as Financial Aid & Career Services Counselor.

Lakewood University is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides worldwide distance education for business, medical, and legal professions.  The college provides quality online programs that are both rigorous and able to be earned in a short period of time.

Recently, the college announced it has hired Tamika McKee to provide leadership and guidance to graduate students as the Financial Aid & Career Services Counselor.  In this role, McKee will provide graduate students with much-needed support to navigate the workplace when the country re-opens for business.

“The role McKee will be filling within our organization is absolutely critical to the success of our graduate students,” says founder of Lakewood University, Tanya Haggins.  “At Lakewood University, we always want to ensure our students have well-rounded employment support when heading out into the workplace.  With the current COVID-19 pandemic, however, navigating the workplace when the country re-opens will undoubtedly be a very stressful time for them.  With McKee’s support, we hope to ease the anxiety of our grads and continue to support them for as long as necessary.”

McKee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, having obtained her Masters of Education – Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University, and a Bachelor of Science – Human Resource Management from David N. Myers University.

In addition to her impressive educational background, McKee has held a variety of positions working in the post-secondary field, including acting as Financial Aid Advisor for South University, Academic Support Advisor at Hondros College of Nursing, Student Services Advisor II at Chamberlain College of Nursing, and Senior Financial Aid Advisor for Kaplan Higher Educations.
